讲座介绍：

In this lecture, I will introduce the eponymous special issue with the journal Canadian Review of Comparative Literature (December 2020), a research project in collaboration with colleagues from Sweden, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, and the UK, of which I worked as the organizer and editor. The project broadly investigates the relationship between literature and sound (both as a physical phenomenon and metaphor). Moreover, it proposes a few methodological possibilities of “listening” as reading in our studies of Comparative Literature.

讲座人信息：

Dr. Shuangyi Li is a Research Fellow in French and Comparative Literature at Lund University, funded by the Swedish Research Council (2019-2022). He is the author of the book, Proust, China and Intertextual Engagement: Translation and Transcultural Dialogue (Palgrave Macmillan: 2017), which won ICLA Anna Balakian Prize 2019, for the best first monograph in the field of Comparative Literature published in the last three years by a scholar under the age of forty. Shuangyi received his Ph.D. at the University of Edinburgh (UK) and had also studied at the École Normale Supérieure (Paris) and l’Université Catholique de Louvain (Belgium). He is currently completing his second monograph Travel, Translation, Transmedia Aesthetics: Franco-Chinese Literature and Visual Arts in a Global Age (Palgrave Macmillan: 2021 forthcoming).
